Highlights from Friday, HOME2011 missions project.
Today was the last day of our HOME2011 project. Exterior of the home is finished. Rough wiring is complete, as is the wiring of the breaker panel. The plumber was on site as we left to complete plumbing rough-in.
While we did not finish the home as in years past, we left a strong, well-built structure with a beautiful exterior. It meets the stringent codes of the hurricane zone. We have learned much about building in this area. We have full confidence that Grifton Mission Ministries will finish the home well and quickly. This will be the best home that we have been a part of.
Immediately after lunch, we held a dedication ceremony with Ms. House, presenting her with the keys to the home and a few tokens to express why we do this project. We were joined by officials from Pitt County and Winterville. We appreciate their help in making this project possible.
To church members and friends: thank you for all your prayers this week.
To the people of Winterville, Pitt County, and Grifton Mission Ministries: thank you for your support, your hospitality, and the great way that you welcomed us to your community. We will never forget it.
