College Park Baptist Church home pageCapital Campaign to Continue

May 4, 2003

Church members gathered tonight for a covered dish supper and a time of celebration of our "new" wing, now nine years old. After supper, many members shared what the new faciliities meant to them and to our mission. Please see the photos below from the evening's celebration.

The first three years of our current capital campaign, “Fulfilling the Promise,” will conclude on May 14. The final phase of our campaign will begin on May 15.

Our debt balance as of May 1 is $447,837.08. It is our goal to completely retire the remaining debt within the next three years, or sooner. With your prayers and commitments, this is entirely possible!

Many of you have already turned in your new pledge cards which were mailed to your homes. If you did not receive a pledge card, they are available at the Welcome Center.

As of May 4, we have received pledges totaling $227,414.00. In order to continue our current payment of $15,831.69 per month over the next three years, pledges are needed in the amount of $569,940.84.

Our Finance Committee recently negotiated with our lender to allow us to pay $8,000.00 on the first of each month, with the balance of $7,831.69 being paid after the monthly Finance Committee meeting, at which time it is determined if funds are available. As of this date, we have been able to make the complete $15,831.60 monthly payment as originally scheduled on this.

Please pray about your future commitment to retiring our debt.
