Our first day was productive. We arrived at the site to find a cinder block foundation. The first wall was raised at 9:24 a.m. By early afternoon, trusses were being placed (by hand, no crane). The house is now under roof, and dry wall installation will begin first thing in the morning. Rough wiring is done for more than half the house. The day began with setting the tool area around Roger's new bus, the saw tent, the rest tent, and the all important food tent. Fred Patterson's trailer is again in use by the food team, helping their efforts tremendously. This first day was a long one, as we expected. Our goal was to have the house dry so that we will not be held up by weather problems. We are now in good shape to continue construction. |
