Aid for Haiti

May, 2002

A number of our Baptist Men are helping tosecure donated goods and loading them on a tractor-trailer bound for Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Items include school desks (200+), latex paint, construction & electrical supplies, non-perishable food, and furniture.

Through New Directions International, aid is being sent to AFCA Village, a model Christian village containing a school (300+ students), church, medical clinic, mechanic garage, and child sponsorship program. Members who have recently served on mission teams to Haiti include Gary Knight, Carolyn Ely, John Crabbe, Barbie Morgan, and Wes Morgan. Ongoing projects include expanding the school, installing power and running water, and expanding the Child Sponsorship Program.
