To all Family & Friends:
Let me start by letting you know that we arrived in Port Au Prince safe and sound. Immediately upon arrival we gathered for lunch at the Gas Station with our Hatian guides. Shortly after, we arrived at Walls Guest House at about 3:00 pm, unloaded the truck and sorted personal and "work" items followed by a welcome and orientation meeting where we were given excellent instructions which will be useful during our stay here in Haiti. The Soccer Camp Team pumped 60 soccer balls, organized all of their equipment and had everything ready for the camp tomorrow morning in a jify. The Bible School group got together for a quick review and practice for the evening presentation and tomorrow's visit to Quada Bouquet. We enjoyed a wonderful Spaghetti dinner and then went to Church for a local service where we were greeted and welcomed with warmth. Many of the locals got up and gave us their seats, too kind of them.
In return we had Sara and a local young man by the name of Ancy sing "I Want to Know You & "Lord I Lift Your Name on High" The rest of us (including Sara) performed our sinterpretive movement to the Lord's Prayer. After all this, the power went off! Just like that. We were in the pitch dark at 100 degrees temperature. We left Church, went by the Government Palace, had a short devotion and the group split to the following evening activities:
One group went swimming and the other took showers...some indoors and others outdooors. The Gueast House is full, there is a Pastor Seminar through tomorrow, lots of people and lots of excitement throughout.
Everyone sends their best!
We are all looking forward to a busy but plentiful day. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers. Please continue to pray as we dedicate this week to do what the Lord has set us out to do in Haiti.
