Haiti Mission Trip

Second E-mail received today from Cynthia Jaramillo:

The teaching team arrived safely. The plane from Charlotte to Miami was full of people going on missions to various islands and South America. The Christian camaradarie was wonderful. Once we arrived at the departure gate in Miami, we could hear the melody of Creole and the trip seemed real for the first time. It took us two hours to get our luggage when we arrived in Port au Prince. We unloaded at the guest house, had a quick lunch, and were off to tour AFCA where we will be teaching tomorrow. We met Pastor Renes and toured AFCA village. Will there be two translators or four tomorrow? We will be flexible and work with whom we have.

The VBS group got to sleep in this morning. They visited the soccer camp and lunched at the guest house. All of the youth went to Sandro's house to see his artwork. In the afternoon they went to Jehu's orphanage to paint a mural and play with the children. They will finish the mural on Saturday. It was a relaxing day.

The soccer group started their tournament.

We all dined at the guest house. We had meatloaf, salad, rice, and rice pudding. The girls did not get their hair braided. They will try again tomorrow!
