The Lay Family

College Park will fully build a home for Kathy Lay and her daughters. Kathy is a single mother of 3 children. She left an abusive situation and decided to make life better for herself and her children.

She was worked her way through college at Cumberland. She now has a good job with the Whitley County Health Department as the Tobacco Prevention Specialist and Teen Initiative Coordinator.

After leaving her husband, Kathy had no safe place to take her children. Social Services is helping with temporary housing. The family stays in an old house that belongs to an elderly woman in the Williamsburg Nursing Home. After the woman’s death, the family will no longer be able to stay there.

Mountain Outreach and College Park will provide a safe, warm home for this hard working woman and her girls.
