2007 Denominational Giving Recommendations

The Denominational Relations Committee proposes that the church adopt a set of alternative giving plans for the 2007 budget year.

They plans are described in below, and will be considered at a called church conference on Wednesday, September 27. Click here for a version optimized for printing.

MULTIPLE OPTION DENOMINATIONAL MISSIONS GIVING PLAN
College Park Baptist Church

The following is a proposed church denominational missions giving plan utilizing multiple giving plan options. The plans will be considered in a called conference Sept. 27. The three plan options are outlined below, along with implementation details. Several items have links to more detailed budgets.

Plan Option #1: College Park Missions Resource Plan

• 10.00 % -- Baptist State Convention
• 20.00 % -- Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina
• 4.17 % -- Southern Baptist Convention Missions (NAMB, IMB)
• 10.00 % -- Global Missions (Cooperative Baptist Fellowship)
• 5.42 % -- Lay Ministries (WMU, Baptist Men)
• 19.66 % -- Higher Education (NC Baptist colleges & universities)
• 12.59 % -- Theological Education (Baptist divinity schools in NC)
• 14.24 % -- Social Ministry (Children’s Homes, Retirement Homes, Baptist Hospital School of Pastoral Care)
• 1.30 % -- New Churches
• 4.07 % -- Baptist Partners (Biblical Recorder, Baptist Foundation, Baptist World Alliance, Baptist Center for Ethics, Baptist Joint Committee, Associated Baptist Press)

Plan Option #2: Baptist State Convention Plan B

• 67.5 % -- Baptist State Convention (including NC mission agencies)
• 10.5 % -- Southern Baptist Convention
• 10.9 % -- Theological Education in NC (Baptist colleges & universities)
• 10.6 % -- Special Missions
• 0.5 % -- Adopt-an-Annuitant (NC Pastors)

• 30.0 % -- Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina
• 20.0 % -- Global Missions (Cooperative Baptist Fellowship)
• 5.0 % -- Lay Ministries (WMU, Baptist Men)
• 16.0 % -- Higher Education (NC Baptist colleges & universities)
• 14.0 % -- Theological Education (NC Baptist divinity schools)
• 9.5 % -- Social Ministry (Children’s Homes, Retirement Homes, Baptist Hospital School of Pastoral Care)
• 1.0 % -- New Churches

Member Plan Designations

The proposed method of plan designation by each member/household will be a one time per year annual designation by completion of a form mailed around November 1, and due to the church office by December 31. This designation will indicate which of the three plans the member/household intend the denominational missions portion of their tithes (approximately 11.60% of church budget) to be designated. The annual member/household designation would be kept on file by the church’s financial secretary, and gifts made to the general offering of the church would be applied in accordance with those designations.

Member designations will be considered private and confidential, known only to the church financial secretary and any committee personnel for whom such information is necessary to perform administrative functions. Statistics regarding the overall percentages of designations and financial totals related to those designations would of course be a matter of church record available to all members.

Undesignated Gifts

Undesignated gifts will be allotted to the default plan, which is Plan Option #1.
