Upcoming events, March 31, 2019 edition

  • The menu for Wednesday night supper is sweet and sour meatballs, hash brown casserole, green beans, rolls and dessert.
  • Revival services will be held each evening at 7:00, Sunday, April 7 – Wednesday, April 10. On Sunday morning, we will worship together in a combined service at 11:00. Come join us for a fellowship supper each evening at 5:30, followed by the services in the Big Tent with Rev. Randy Weeaks as our guest speaker. Bring a guest!
  • Grub Club will be going to Bad Daddy’s on Tuesday, April 9, leaving at 11:00 a.m. Sign up at the Welcome Desk if you would like to go.
  • Our children, ages birth – kindergarten, will be enjoying an Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday, April 10, at 6:30 p.m. on the playground. Following the Re:Vival service, ages through 6th grade will have a lighted egg hunt on the playground.
  • There will be no Wednesday evening activities on April 17.
  • College Parkers meet on Thursday, April 18 at 11:30 a.m. for a covered-dish lunch, followed by a program presented by Mary Lou White from the Piedmont Triad Council on Aging.
  • Make plans to come to our Maundy Thursday service on Thursday evening, April 18, at 7:00.
  • Our Tenebrae service will be on Friday evening, April 19 at 7:00.
  • Our regular Church Conference is Wednesday evening, April 24 at 6:45.
  • Our youth will be leading us in worship on Sunday, April 28. We will have a combined service at 11:00 as we celebrate Youth Sunday.
  • Book Club meets on Monday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m.

  • The menu for Wednesday night supper is chicken pot pie, side/salad, rolls and dessert.
  • The Grub Club is going to K&W on Monday, March 25, leaving the church at 11:30 a.m. Please sign up if you would like to go.
  • Book Club meets on Monday evening at 7:00.
  • College Park is anxious to help our friends and neighbors down east. We periodically collect items to transport, and we have two coming opportunities for adults to go and serve.
    On March 22 and 23, NC Baptists on Mission will offer training for anyone interested in Disaster Relief. It will be in Thomasville on Friday evening and the following Saturday. All ages and abilities are welcome to train. Services are needed in Mass Feeding, Mud Out, Child Care, Administration, Chain Saw, and many other categories. If you are interested, please go to baptistsonmission.org, then click Training. Click Disaster Relief, then choose the category that most interests you. We are in Region 5. You can register on that page.
    On April 24 – 27, we are recruiting a team to assist with the rebuild. Exactly where we go will be determined by the size of the group and needs at the time. Barbie Kale is organizing the team and will provide more information as the time draws near.
  • If you would like to place a lily in the sanctuary for Easter Sunday, April 21, please use the order form found at the Welcome Desk and return it to the church office no later than Wednesday, March 27. The cost will be $12.00/per plant and this should be paid at the time you order.

  • Forsyth Memorial Cemetery is sponsoring a Lunch and Learn at College Park on Tuesday, March 12 at 11:30. Please let Matt Wilson know if you would like to attend.
  • There will be a called church conference on March 13 at 6:30 p.m. At the October conference, the church approved a six-month partnership with Welcome House ministries for the use of the Ransom Road house. The purpose of the called conference is to consider a motion from the Deacons to continue this partnership. If you have questions in advance of the meeting, please contact Deacons Russell Talley or Rick Matthews.
