MP3 playerIntroducing Podcasts of our Services

Do you have an iPod or MP3 player?

We are now podcasting of our worship services.

What is a podcast?

Not everyone you see with tiny players and ear buds is listening to music. Some are listening to audio books, some are listening to news, and some will soon be listening to our worship services.

Podcasting is sometimes described as on-demand internet radio, giving you the programs you want when and where you want them. In fact, it is a very easy way to automatically transfer each weekly worship service recording to your iPod or other iTunes compatible MP3 player. College Park now has a channel on the iTunes.com online music store. When you subscribe to our channel, you will receive recordings of our worship services on your iPod or MP3 player weekly.

It is just as easy to get these podcasts without subscribing to iTunes. More on this below.

How do I get our podcasts?

You will need special software for subscribing to our free podcasts. Two popular choices are iTunes (from Apple) and Juice (formerly iPodder). If you have an iPod, you likely already have iTunes installed. It is a little easier to configure. Juice is another good choice, and it does not require that you give a credit card number. Instructions for each are shown below.

Using iTunes

Installation and setup

  1. If you do not already have it, install the free iTunes software on your PC. Click here for the free download of this software. Install. (During installation you may be asked for credit card information in hopes of selling you commercial music at the iTunes store. You will not be billed for subscribing to iTunes or downloading our worship services.)
  2. Click here to open iTunes with the College Park channel. Click on the "subscribe" button to subscribe to the College Park podcast channel. Follow the instructions.

Getting your weekly Podcasts

The above need only be done once. Henceforth, each week you will want to:

  1. Run iTunes on your PC.
  2. Click on Podcasts in the left panel, and then choose the "Update" icon, Update. iTunes will automatically get the latest recordings of services from our web site.
  3. Synch your player with your PC. This will transfer the service to your iPod or other MP3 player.
  4. Listen!

Advanced

You can configure iTunes to store these Podcasts wherever you like. You can also change how often it checks our site for new podcasts. Click on Edit > Preferences, and explore.
