Girls in Action

About us

Girls in Action (GA) is a missions discipleship organization for girls in grades 1 through 6. Through GA’s, girls learn about, pray for, give to, and do missions work. G.A.’s also support the ministries of the church.

G.A. Motto: “Go Forward”

G.A. Pledge: “As a G.A., I will do my best to live a missions lifestyle that honors God by learning about missions, praying for missions, giving to missions, doing missions, and participating in the work of the church.”

G.A. Scripture Verse: “Give thanks to the Lord. Worship Him. Tell the nations what He has done. Announce how honored He is” (Isaiah 12:4 NIrV).

K1P2 hosts Knitting to Gather

Our GA’s invited members of the church to join them in knitting toboggans for the Youth to hand out when visiting the Bus Station during the winter months.  Knitting To Gather (Knitting Together) is a play on words representing the social aspect of our group.  Everyone benefited from multiple generations working together on a common activity… The group met weekly in January and February.  More than 100 hats were made!

Fall Festival Centerpieces

One of the missions of a G.A. is to support the ministries of the church. Our G.A.’s hand crafted some beautiful centerpieces which were used on the tables at our Fall Festival.

Reverse Trick or Treating

The G.A.’s and R.A.’s joined together, dressed in their BEST Halloween costumes and visited over thirty home-bound senior citizens. The kids knocked on doors and instead of asking for candy, they delivered “Spooktacular” Hugs N’ Kisses chocolate candies. It was pretty hard to determine who had more fun, the KIDS or the ADULTS!

Muffins for Missions

The girls gathered one Saturday morning at the church and baked muffins. The G.A.’s served them on Sunday morning and collected a love offering. All money raised went to the Annie Armstrong fund and Worldwide Missions.

Cookie Bake

Our G.A.’s baked over 34 dozen cookies to donate to the workers setting up the Dixie Classic Fair.  The girls  enjoyed their time together!
