Friday at Mountain Outreach

Finished!

We completed the house today, with nearly everything but a few odds and ends done by noon. The Drapers are moved into their new home.

The dedication of the home was at 1:00 p.m. following lunch. We were joined by all the students from Cumberland College who make up the Mountain Outreach project. They are the ones who run the organization, and select the families. They are on every site working hard, and they provide a lot of infrastructure support. We are very grateful for their hard work and careful planning that makes our trip possible.

Thanks, too, to David and Ed, who work full time for Mountain Outreach and provide great organization, guidance, and continuity.

The afternoon was spent picking up, packing, and loading. Getting everything from tools to tables to tents organized and loaded took about half a day.

The home is beautiful, and sits on a beautiful site overlooking a small valley. Cliff shared the plans he has for landscaping their new yard.

Most of the group left around 4:30 heading back to Winston-Salem. A few of us are staying one more night.

Thanks for all your prayers this week. We could feel them. Mitch Edmonds commented during the dedication of the clear evidence of the Lord's hand in the project. In the midst of the beehive of activity, hardly a cross word was spoken. There were no injuries, in spite of heavy rains and a steep site.

We extend special thanks to the Days Inn in Jellico. They have a very nice facility, and they have been wonderful hosts. They fed us well each morning, and they cleaned up after our muddy boots. We appreciated being able to stay here.

Please pray for our safe return. We look forward to seeing you all Sunday.
