At 9:30 p.m., the group is gathering around the pool in preparation for our organizational meeting. The trip up was safe but "interesting." The Tool Bus developed a hole in the radiator. Fred Patterson and Matt Somers came upon the bus and lended a hand. Matt kindly made trips from the interstate to the creek below to haul enough water to get them the rest of the way. The bus headed toward the job site an hour ago with two large trashcans of water to replenish the radiator along the way. Many of the youth boys went along to clear lumber out of the way for the tool bus.
The trailer also had its troubles, developing a flat tire along the way.
However, all are here, all are safe, and all are ready to go to work. Rick and Mark hooked up power this afternoon, Charlie and Kim checked out the site, and Wes, Roger, and many of the youth have just been out there to be sure we are ready for a quick start in the morning -- early in the morning, if history is a guide.
Weather forecasts are encouraging, but pray for good weather and a safe week.
Thanks from Jellico. Check back tomorrow night (possibly late) for pictures from the first day.
