Upcoming events, 9/1/2019 edition

  • Our regular Wednesday night schedule begins this Wednesday. Join us for supper at 6:00p.m. We will be having a cookout – hamburgers with all the “fixins,” chips and ice cream.
  • Our regular Sunday evening activities begin next week, September 8. Check the calendar!
  • Max Lucado says that many Christians underestimate what happened to them upon conversion. Trusting Christ is more than a removal of sin. It is a deposit of power. “Could you use more energy? You have it. More kindness? It’s yours. Could you use some self-control, self-discipline, or self-confidence? God has already given them to you. You just need to claim your inheritance.” (Lucado)
Join us for our study of Glory Days by Max Lucado. Our study begins Wednesday, September 11 at 6:30 pm. This is a 7-8 week study. Our time will be led by Steve Loftis. Please sign up at the Welcome Desk.
  • College Parkers will enjoy their annual Great American Hotdog Feast on Thursday, September 19th at 11:30am. Come enjoy a few dogs with all the fixings and be entertained by an award winning Barber Shop Quartet, “Sound Counsel,” who never disappoints. We do ask that you help chip in $5 to help offset the cost of the meal.
  • Grub Club will be going to Skrimp Shack on Tuesday, September 24, leaving at 10:45. Sign up at the Welcome Desk.
  • Book Club meets on Monday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Every student in our church has an envelope available to be picked up by our adult church members. All we ask of our adults is to keep these students in their ongoing prayers as well as communicate with them on a periodic basis. This is a simple task that has eternal impact. Please pray about being part of this invaluable ministry.
  • The budget process has begun for 2020. Requests are due by Monday, September 16. Please be prayer for our budget process.
See Andy Hewitt or Grace Hodge if you have questions.
  • At our Church Conference in October, we will be voting on a motion to remove the “3-year term” for Church Clerk in our Constitution.
