One of the best ministries that College Park offers is our internship program. We currently have one summer position open.
The intern works either in the children’s ministry area or the youth ministry area. This would depend on the interest/skills of the candidate. The intern would be given specific duties within those age groups and work together with other staff to implement the summer family ministry plan.
Applications are currently being received. All college/divinity school students interested in teaching or call to ministry are welcome to apply.
Applications are now available. If you would like an application or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeff Allen, the Associate Pastor for Students and Families, at jeff@collegepark.ws or (336) 978-4686.
We are headed back to Camp Kanuga (staying a Camp Bob, the kids camp at Camp Kanuga) near Hendersonville, in the mountains of North Carolina. This is a great place to have children’s camp and we are looking forward to another great weekend. We will be enjoying Bible study, worship, recreation, and a great time together. It is going to be so much fun! Mark your calendars now for this kid’s camp designed for 1st through 6th graders!
Our youth will be leading us in a combined worship service on Sunday, April 28, at 11 am. This is always a significant time of worship for our congregation.
Our youth group is going to the beach for 3 days during spring break for a great retreat of fun, food, and merriment (how many times have you seen THAT word used in a sentence)! We will be staying at Garden City Chapel for three nights.
What will we be doing?
We will be doing it all—going to Myrtle Beach, doing missions work, shopping, eating out, hanging out on the beach, doing some Bible studies, playing games, and having some free time.
What is Garden City Chapel?
Only one of our favorite places to go to be together as a youth group. It is located in Garden City Beach in Murrells Inlet, SC. It is where we have gone for summer camp for the last several years. This will be the first time we are going for Spring Break and we are excited to be going back!
Spots still available!
The cost is $160 ($135 for additional youth from the same family). Friends are welcome to join us! Sign-ups are going on now. Your deposit of $50, which is non-refundable, must be turned in by this date. You can even use our online registration feature and pay by credit card. Go here to register online. The balance will be due on April 7. Get your deposit in now so you will not miss this great event! Make sure you are not the only one staying in Winston for Spring Break! Sign-up today!

WinterJam is a huge concert festival held every year in the Greensboro Coliseum. We are pumped that we will be going this year AND we have reserved seats. Some of the top artists will be there – Newsboys United, Danny Gokey, Mandissa, Rend Collective, Hollyn, Ledger, Newsong, and more. It will be over 4 hours of music you will not want to miss.
Tickets are available now! Tickets are $35 and we will purchase 25. Once all 25 tickets are gone, we can not add any more. So get your money in now. Turn in a check made out to the church or pay online. Youth, parents, friends are all invited.
We need 4 adults, including a couple of drivers. If you are available, please let Jeff know.
Join us for the 9th-anniversary service of our Re:Creation worship service at 9 am on Sunday, February 3. B&B Cafe opens at 8:45 am to service pastries and drinks. See you there!
**NOTE THE NEW TIME & DATE**
As the new year begins, there are several things coming up for our youth ministry. At this Youth and Parent meeting, will be discussing Dinner and a Show, changes to Youth Camp, and more. We also need feedback on some questions we have regarding potential events. My plan is for the big meeting to be quick so that we can get to work on the main event.
The major item to discuss is the Dinner and a Show. There are 5 planning teams which we need to make the event happen. Some parents have already picked a team and started working. This meeting will be the time for everyone to pick and team and start planning. We will spend the bulk of our time planning with our teams. Here are the team choices:
We hope all of our youth and parents will be part of our upcoming planning meeting on January 27. With so much going on this year, we want to make sure everyone is aware of what is happening.
Have you heard the news – we are headed to a brand new summer camp! It’s called Generate and we are headed to Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA! We will join hundreds of other teenagers in worship, recreation, and more as we learn how to be redefined by God.
Check out this website for important camp info for parents. We are excited about this new camp experience and we hope you will be too!

The deacon board will bring a motion at the regular church conference of October 24, 2018 to vote on a ministry opportunity involving temporary occupancy of the Ransom Road house.
The house would be occupied by two families of two persons each, for a total of four individuals. This emergency request comes from Marc Wyatt of Welcome House Ministries, and would not exceed six months without additional church approval.
If you have questions, please contact deacon chair Russell Talley or any other deacon.
College Park is accepting Hurricane Relief Donations and we plan on making another trip to the East soon. Learn more here. Watch the video on Vimeo here.
Our children and youth mission groups are working together on this year’s Operation Christmas Child, a ministry effort to share the joy of Christmas with children around the world. Our children and youth will be making gift boxes on Wednesday, November 7. We need donated items to go in the boxes.
These donations (suggested list below direct from a missionary) will be collected during the weeks leading up to November 7. Donation boxes will be placed in the hallway outside Smith Hall.
Donations will be collected through November 7.
The Fall Family Festival is one of the big days around here. This year we will have inflatables and other activities outside starting at 5 PM! But we will not stop there.
We are headed back outside for this year’s event. We will be doing another “Trunk or Treat.” Basically, we would like decorated vehicle trunks for kids to come to visit. These vehicles will be placed on the front lawn of the church alongside the inflatables.
The trunks can be decorated with any child-centric theme like board games, cartoon characters, biblical themes, etc. The children will visit these cars to receive candy, other giveaways, & even play a game you create!
Because this year’s event is happening on Halloween night, we expect a huge number of children.
So we need 25 trunks this year!
We need individuals, couples, families, Sunday School classes, mission groups, etc. to sign up for a trunk. If you can help, call Jeff or send him an email at jeff@collegepark.ws.
We want to provide our community with a safe place & we can only do that with everyone playing a part!

Women of all ages and stages are invited to “Pinterest with a Purpose,” a fellowship-filled event to creatively reach our community for Christ on Friday, September 21, from 7-9pm in the Old Fellowship Fall (Building D, Level 1). We will be making handcrafted gifts that we hope will be a blessing and lead to an opportunity to share Christ with others. Childcare will be available. Come to enjoy the fun and fellowship!
